About Old Guys Rule

Born on a California beach

Old Guys Rule started in 2003 with a sticker. Surfer Don Craig grew up in Hermosa Beach in the 1950s and learned to surf from his dad, Doug. Doug and his friends Ross and Fred were known as “The Three Wise Men” – older surfers who still took on the big waves and shared their experience.

To honour them, Don had a sticker made: a surfboard straight through the words Old Guys Rule. Within a week, everyone on the beach wanted one. T-shirts and caps soon followed, and the brand spread far beyond the surf world.

Today Old Guys Rule is a lifestyle brand for men who see age as a badge of honour, not an obstacle. Men with energy, a passion for life and wisdom from years of experience – whether their passion is surfing, golf, grilling, engines, hunting or the mountains.
